QWANT, the French search engine
The “Qwant” search engine was co-founded in 2013 by Eric Leandri and Jean Manuel Rozan. They have, as I write this article, a team of over 160 people in their offices in Paris, Nice and Rouen and are expanding to introduce this respected French search engine as a serious alternative to Google.
Indeed, this French search engine has nothing to envy from giants like Google, Bing or Yahoo.
In fact, there are more advantages than disadvantages to using it on a daily basis!
Let’s take a look:

“Qwant” makes its users’ privacy a priority:
– It does not deposit cookies on our machines.
– It stores no search history.
– And it guarantees your anonymity.
In the interests of transparency, this search engine has published its source code to the CNIL so that they can check its confidentiality practices.
As you can see, it has made privacy its top priority, but fortunately it doesn’t stop there: it also offers an enriched search experience!
It’s able to deliver the best possible results to your searches without ever trying to find out who you are or what you do.
“Qwant” is further distinguished by its search tabs, which go beyond the popular ‘News’, ‘Images’ and ‘Videos’ tabs and include a dedicated social media tab as well as a shopping tab.
You’ll also find a search category dedicated to music, featuring the ‘Albums’, ‘Artists’ and ‘Titles’ tabs, as well as a special ‘Junior’ category dedicated to children aged 6 to 13, which includes the ‘Education’ tab in addition to the most popular ones.
Not forgetting “Qwant Maps”, “Qwant Causes”, …
All this and more in a simple, user-friendly interface.
We can also add to the list of advantages mentioned above:

– It doesn’t change the order of results with each update.
